What is microneedling?
Microneedling is a skin treatment that uses needles to create micro-injures in the skin in order to stimulate the bodies natural healing process. The goal of micro needling is to create a controlled injury and force the body to respond by producing more collagen in the treated area. This is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy. The needles create micro passageways, without damaging the epidermis. This allows 80% more product into the skin, compared to 7-10% normally. Therefore, vital skincare ingredients such as Vitamin C and Hyaluronic Acid can reach the deeper layers of the skin, enhancing the benefits and achieving better results.
What skin conditions would benefit from a microneedling treatment?
Acne scarring, scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, large pores, uneven texture and loss of firmness. All of these skin conditions would benefit from micro needling.
How often should you have microneedling and when should you expect to see results?
Depending on your skin condition depends on how many treatments you will require. A course of between 3-6 treatments is recommended once every 4-6 weeks. You will start to see the improvement of your skin approximately 4 weeks after your first treatment as it takes this long for the new collagen to be built.
Although microneedling is a safe treatment there are contraindications. If you are interested in booking a treatment please contact me for a consultation.
